January 4, 2012 – Don Jordan received an endorsement of the governing council, being elected to his third term as President of ACTRA Montreal.

An ACTRA Montreal member for 46 years, Jordan has served as an elected councillor for 10 years, contributing and chairing numerous committees including the Diversity, Members’ Conference and Awards Committee. He helped found Montreal’s newsletter, The Grapevine, and has been its editor since inception.

“It’s been an honour and pleasure to serve the members of ACTRA Montreal, whom I greatly respect, and contribute to this organization, that I hold in the highest regard. I look forward to building on our successes and I am excited at the prospect of achieving new and greater goals,” said Don Jordan. “The volume of production in this city is higher than it has been in some time – due in large part to the work ACTRA Montreal has done, lobbying to increase provincial tax credits and working with industry partners like the Quebec English-language Production Committee and Quebec Film and Television Council. We need to continue that diligent and important work, that benefits both performers, and our entire industry.”

Joining Jordan on ACTRA Montreal’s Executive are returning Vice-President Thor Bishopric, returning Treasurer Cary Lawrence and newly acclaimed Secretary Paula Costain. Also elected as National Councillors are Cary Lawrence and Ian Finlay.
