Twenty-four candidates are campaigning to fill the eleven spots available on the ACTRA Montreal Branch Council. Full members in good standing have received their ballots and are encouraged to vote before the December 19, 2011 deadline.
In addition to an official ballot, member packages should include nominee photos and statements, a small envelope in which to seal the ballot and a larger, postage-paid pre-addressed envelope in which to enclose the sealed ballot for return to the scrutineer. Full members of ACTRA Montreal in good standing are asked to read the enclosed series of statements provided by the candidates for ACTRA Montreal Branch Council and then decide who they want to vote for.
Here’s how the voting process works:
- Full members must mark the enclosed ballot by means of an “X” or “√” in the circle beside each name. They SHOULD NOT place their membership number or any other mark on the ballot itself other than the “X” or “√” indicating their voting choices. THEY MUST NOT select more than ELEVEN (11) names or the BALLOT WILL BE INVALID.
- The full member should fold the completed ballot and seal it inside the smaller envelope marked “BALLOT”.
- The full member must then insert the ballot envelope into the large pre-addressed, stamped envelope provided and seal the envelope.
- The full member must print their name and their ACTRA membership number on the FRONT OF THE LARGE, PRE-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE.
- Finally, the full member must mail the envelope allowing sufficient time for the ballot to be received at the Office of the Scrutineer not later than Monday, December 19, 2011, 5:00 p.m. EST.
All candidates for election will be notified of the final results on, or before, Thursday, December 22, 2011.
At their first meeting, the new 11-member Council will elect a President, Vice-President and Treasurer as well as two (2) National Councillors. Your duly elected Council will serve the entire membership of ACTRA Montreal for a two-year period, ending December 2013.
Please choose wisely – and please exercise your voting right to ensure the best possible representation.
Remember, ONLY FULL MEMBERS OF ACTRA MONTREAL IN GOOD STANDING ARE PERMITTED TO VOTE.
