For the first time in many years ACTRA Montreal is holding branch elections. That 24 members have put their names forward to serve their union is an encouraging sign that our membership is invigorated and engaged. All members are encouraged to take part in the democratic process, shape their union and vote before the December 19th deadline. Be assured that these elections are being held in full compliance with the ACTRA Montreal By-Laws. This includes appointing an impartial scrutineer to receive and count the ballots. The ACTRA Montreal branch and its staff will remain impartial at all times during this election process and will not be involved in any way in campaigning – aside from making the statements provided by each candidate available to members by including them in the ballot package that was mailed out as well as on the branch website. Please also note that ACTRA Montreal’s office cannot be used for posting campaign material and that any such material left in the office will be removed.
We encourage the candidates to campaign in a respectful manner in reaching out to fellow members – and we strongly urge all members to have their say and vote!
